What will it take, God, for us to regard each other with love?
Will it take punishment from you?
Will it take discipline?
Will it take edicts?
Laws?
Strife?
Violence?
There is only one thing that can turn our hearts to love for one another,
And it is more powerful than all these combined.
Please, Lord God, send your Holy Spirit into the hearts of your people
That we may learn to love with your love.
Amen.
