We are made in your image, Lord,
But your ways are foreign to us.
We look to you for what seems like only a moment,
And then we turn to our own wants and desires.
We try, feebly, to be holy,
And we quickly run excitedly toward temptations and sin.
Leash our hearts to you, Lord we pray.
Make our will one with thine.
Re-create us in your image, not only in spirit, but in desire.
Cause us to run to you, our greatest treasure,
Instead of chasing vainly after worldly pleasure.
