When will we learn to settle down?
When will we learn how to focus?
Not on the things that distract, as we tend to do all the time,
But on the things that you are to us?
Nothing can be more important than our relationship with you,
And our energies cannot be better spent than on time with you.
Show us how to do this.
We complain there aren’t enough hours in the day,
When actually,
We fill our hours with things of little consequence,
Trying to put you in the leftover moments
That never seem to exist.
Focus us on you.
Reorganize our thoughts
That we may learn to
Place our relationship with you
In the forefront of our time.
